Job Description

Title- Ignition Developer/Lead (IIoT, Ignition, Edge Computing)

Location- St. Louis, MO

Term: Contract


Note: Project location is in Jefferson City, and the nearby resource location e.g. St. Louis preferred. Initially ~ 7-8 weeks onsite presence is required and then can be optimized based on the requirement i.e. ~50%.


Experience: 5+ years in IIoT, Ignition, Edge Computing with 10+ years in Automation.


Job Description:

  • Design and deliver scalable, modular solutions in Ignition (Perspective, Scripting).
  • Build custom scripts, backend logic, and integrations using Python, Java, SQL, and Timescale DB.
  • Develop responsive industrial dashboards with Ignition Perspective, HTML, CSS, and Java.
  • Integrate industrial protocols and platforms (MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus, Hive MQ) for secure connectivity.
  • Manage deployments with Kubernetes and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, ensure best practices, and provide documentation/training.


Required Skills:

  • Experience in at least one full Ignition deployment from design to go-live.
  • Strong knowledge of Ignition (Perspective, Scripting) with modular and scalable design expertise.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, SQL, and Timescale DB for backend logic, automation, and data workflows.
  • Skilled in web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for building responsive industrial dashboards.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial protocols (MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus) and tools like Hive MQ.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines in manufacturing/OT environments.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing or Industry 4.0 experience.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, or similar)
  • Knowledge of IIoT security practices.
  • GitHub portfolio with relevant projects.


Education: Bachelors in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
