Job Summary: The Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of building projects, from initial concept to completion as well as ad-hoc interventions, ensuring alignment with client requirements, budget constraints, and local regulations. This role involves collaborating with clients, engineers, trades, stakeholders, collaborating designers and contractors to create functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing spaces. The Architect will produce detailed drawings, manage project timelines, and provide expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from planning, and design through permitting and construction administration.
Duties/ Responsibilities:

Create site analysis and refine architectural concepts that align with client needs, balancing functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability

Produce comprehensive plans, drawings, and 3D renderings using software like AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino, plus various rendering and graphics software. Ensure all designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements

Present design concepts, plans, and progress updates to clients and stakeholders. Incorporate feedback into revised designs to meet project expectations

Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets, ensuring projects stay on track. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed to meet client and company objectives

Work closely with collaborating designers, construction teams, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution. Address construction challenges and provide architectural solutions when needed

Perform site visits to inspect work and ensure it aligns with the approved designs and specifications. Address any design issues or modifications during construction

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, understanding their goals, presenting design options, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project

Collaborate with structural, mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers to integrate these systems into the architectural design, maintaining cohesive and functional outcomes

Work with local building departments and regulatory agencies to secure necessary permits, resolve compliance issues, and adhere to zoning and environmental standards

Analyze site conditions, environmental factors, and local regulations to inform design choices. Collaborate with Landscape Architecture and Civil Engineers in the creation of site plans that consider topography, sunlight, and environmental impact

Ensure that all designs and construction processes comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability guidelines
-
Implement environmentally responsible design strategies, such as energy-efficient layouts, sustainable materials, and green building practices, to meet client and regulatory standards

Make design adjustments as needed to address client feedback, unexpected site conditions, or construction challenges, ensuring continuity and project success

Identify and resolve architectural issues that may arise during the construction phase, collaborating with construction teams and engineers to develop solutions

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related field

Master’s Degree in Architecture or related field is preferred

Required Experience/Skills/Abilities

Proficiency in creating innovative and functional architectural designs that meet client needs and regulatory requirements. Strong understanding of design principles, materials, and construction methods

Expertise in using architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other 3D modeling tools to create detailed drawings and visualizations

In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations. Ability to ensure all designs comply with legal and environmental standards

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including developing project plans, schedules, and budgets. Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Proficiency in developing and managing project budgets, monitoring costs, and ensuring profitability. Ability to make data-driven decisions to optimize project outcomes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present ideas, proposals, and designs to clients. Ability to listen to client feedback and incorporate it into project plans

Strong team collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers, contractors, and other professionals. Ability to build positive working relationships and foster a cooperative work environment

Ability to analyze complex problems, identify potential issues, and develop effective solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills to address challenges that arise during the design and construction phases

Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in designs, documentation, and compliance with regulations. Ability to spot potential errors and make necessary corrections

Strong creativity and innovation in developing architectural concepts that enhance functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. Ability to think outside the box and explore new design ideas and technologies

Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements, client needs, and industry trends. Ability to pivot designs and approaches as needed to meet project goals

Ability to lead and mentor junior architects and designers, providing guidance and support. Experience in managing project teams and fostering a positive, productive work environment

Strong decision-making skills to evaluate options and select the best course of action based on project needs, budget, and client requirements

Knowledge of sustainable building practices and principles, such as LEED certification and eco-friendly materials. Ability to incorporate sustainable elements into designs to enhance environmental responsibility
