Job DescriptionJob Scope:The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Admissions include timely and accurate record-keeping. of accounts receivable. Maintain a complete and systematic set of records for resident financial transactions. Responsible for handling and processing all admissions/discharges, ensuring the required documentation is completed, and performing various marketing and public relations functions to support the census and objectives.Responsibilities:• Respond to inquiry calls from hospital discharge planners, families, and other referral sources.Conduct Community tours. Manage the admission process by always maintaining updated bedavailability and Community services information.• Manage the inquiry process professionally, timely and with appropriate follow-up. Effectivelymanage occupancy levels and census/premium mix enhancement.• Alert appropriate department supervisors and building staff of projected changes, i.e.admissions, bed changes, and discharges, by chairing daily admission meeting to discussforthcoming changes. Utilize bed management principles.• Maintain a close working relationship with the Director of Nursing and the Business OfficeManager to assure appropriate and efficient decisions about prospective admissions.Recommend admission decisions to Community management. When admissionsdeterminations are made, communicate with nursing and housekeeping about appropriateroom and bed selection.• Obtain appropriate admission papers and signatures from residents or responsible parties priorto admission. Communicate special needs of new admits to fellow teammates to facilitate asmooth transition. Foster teamwork with co-workers, show initiative in overcoming obstacles, take actions that assist others beyond job responsibilities, and have a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.• Seek out and perform other duties as assigned or needed.Qualifications:• Compassion for and desire to work with seniors!• Customer Service, Marketing, and Sales experience.• Minimum required 1 year of related experience; previous experience in bookkeeping oraccounts receivable experience in a health care setting and/or previous experience handlingadmissions in a health care setting.
