Job Summary
Provides salon services, including shampooing, cutting, coloring, and styling hair. May Apply makeup, perform hair removal, and provide nail and skin care services.
General Accountabilities
Cuts, trims and shapes hair, based on clients' requests, hair type and facial features, using clippers, scissors, trimmers and razors.
Analyzes clients' hair and other physical features to determine and recommend beauty treatment or to suggest hair styles.
Schedules client appointments.
Bleaches, dyes, or tints hair, using applicator or brush.
Updates and maintains customer information records, such as beauty services provided.
Shampoos, rinses, conditions, and dries hair and scalp.
Operates cash registers to receive payments from clients.
Demonstrates and sells hair care products and cosmetics.
Develops new styles and techniques.
Applies water, setting, straightening or waving solutions to hair and uses curlers, rollers, or other styling tools to press and curl hair.
Shapes eyebrows
Shaves, trims and shapes beards and moustaches.
Recommends and explains the use of cosmetics, lotions, and creams to soften and moisturize skin and enhance and restore natural appearance.
