Job Description
Position: Data Center Technician I
Location: Canton, MS 39046
Duration: 6 Months assignment with possible extensions
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting & Resolution: Act as the primary resolver and initial escalation point, proficiently troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues.
- Hardware Implementation: Safely execute the moving, implementation, and installation of large enterprise equipment, following well-established procedures.
- Cabling & Patching: Install Fiber and Copper cabling, and expertly patch cabling between equipment.
- Documentation & Training: Create and maintain technical documentation and effectively pass down knowledge of supported technologies to junior staff.
- System Administration: Utilize basic to intermediate system administration skills to handle remote tasks within a virtual team.
- Project Execution: Work autonomously to resolve most support issues, execute small projects, and assist the manager with planning and execution of larger local projects.
- Safety & Security: Ensure proper safety and security standards are consistently maintained during all installation and cabling activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with Fiber and Copper cabling installation and patching.
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative in problem-solving.
- Knowledge of safely using material handling tools and equipment.
- Ability to learn and apply established guidelines and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
- 2+ years of computer networking experience.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution.
- Ability to automate tasks with scripts.
