Job Description

Job Description

Kronos has a long history of avionics engineering working with some of the largest aircraft integrators in the world. We always provide our partners with 100% customer satisfaction and on-time delivery. If you are excited about working for a company that takes its job seriously and does not cut corners you will have a home with Kronos.

We’re looking for an experienced engineering contractor to support the development of electric power generators and motors used in aerospace applications. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys getting hands on with electric machines and likes balancing design work with testing, troubleshooting, and analysis.

You’ll work closely with cross functional teams, support system integration efforts, and help drive projects from development through qualification. You’ll also have opportunities to lead smaller task teams and mentor junior engineers along the way.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead engineering efforts for the development of electric generators and motors used in aerospace platforms
  • Coordinate electric motor and generator design, including electromagnetic analysis, magnetic principles, stator and rotor design, component selection, manufacturing processes, and testing
  • Act as the system level integration focal point, working with internal teams and external customers
  • Serve as a primary technical contact for customer questions and discussions
  • Plan and oversee validation and verification activities, including compliance matrices and verification methods
  • Develop plans for research, development, and qualification testing
  • Support new business and proposal efforts
  • Participate in root cause and corrective action activities for fielded products
  • Help improve work processes and procedures while mentoring lower level engineers

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 8 to 15 years of relevant engineering experience

Preferred Experience

  • Strong background designing electric motors and generators, including permanent magnet, induction, and synchronous wound field machines
  • Experience using electric machine design tools such as Motor-CAD or SPEED
  • Hands on experience with magnetic finite element analysis tools
  • Proficiency with MATLAB for performance and efficiency calculations
  • Experience supporting environmental testing, failure analysis, and production issues
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts on development programs
  • Comfortable creating requirements, technical reports, trade studies, and presentations
  • Familiarity with military and commercial aircraft requirements
  • Experience with root cause and corrective action processes
