The Manager Trainee will be trained to understand all aspects of our business operations, including front desk (client services, scheduling, communication) and back-of-house (dog handling, group play safety, sanitation, boarding protocols). Over time, the trainee will be prepared to manage day-to-day operations and eventually lead the facility. This position requires commitment, adaptability, and a passion for learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and support daily operations in both front and back of house

• Gain hands-on experience with dog handling, group play supervision, and kennel operations

• Shadow and assist with customer service, appointment management, and daily communication via Paw Partner and phone

• Observe and participate in team management and staff training

• Follow and help enforce company policies and cleanliness standards

• Assist with scheduling, occupancy tracking, and enrichment planning

• Learn to resolve customer concerns with professionalism and empathy

• Support marketing or project initiatives under manager supervision

Required Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset

• Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments

• Strong verbal communication skills; must be confident speaking with clients and coworkers

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask

• Must be computer confident—able to quickly learn industry software (Paw Partner), check messages, and maintain digital logs

• Competency with Google Docs/Sheets or Microsoft Word/Excel is a must

• Willingness to take direction and seek feedback as part of the learning process

• The Manager Trainee will be evaluated regularly for progress in skill-building and leadership development.

• The role may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday availability.
