Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to acutely and critically ill patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. Performs comprehensive assessments, manages complex hemodynamic monitoring and titrated therapies, and evaluates patient response to treatment. Provides clinical leadership to ancillary staff and serves as a resource within the department.

Education & Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required
• Intensive care or critical care nursing experience: Required

Licenses & Certifications

• Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for acutely and critically ill patients.
• Manage invasive hemodynamic monitoring and interpret results to guide care.
• Administer and titrate vasoactive medications, sedation and other critical care therapies.
• Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation and advanced airway support.
• Respond to emergent changes in patient condition and participate in resuscitation events.
• Maintain accurate documentation and serve as a preceptor and clinical resource to staff.
