Position Summary

The Full Stack Web Developer & SEO Specialist will oversee the firm’s digital infrastructure, ensuring our website and SEO strategies work seamlessly together to drive visibility, performance, and client engagement. This hybrid technical and marketing role replaces the outsourced technical SEO and development functions previously handled by vendors, bringing web performance, compliance, and analytics fully in-house.

The ideal candidate combines strong development skills with advanced knowledge of technical SEO and web analytics, ensuring that every aspect of J&Y Law’s website aligns with Google best practices, accessibility standards, and California State Bar advertising regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

Website Development & Technical Maintenance

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize the firm’s WordPress website for speed, security, and scalability.
  • Manage hosting, DNS, and CMS configurations while ensuring site uptime and responsiveness.
  • Implement site rebuilds, new page templates, and A/B testing initiatives.
  • Ensure all web properties are ADA/WCAG-compliant and mobile-first.
  • Maintain SSL certificates, backups, and web security standards.

Technical SEO & Performance Optimization

  • Conduct regular site audits to identify and resolve crawl errors, 404s, and indexation issues.
  • Implement structured data (schema markup), canonical tags, and internal link optimization.
  • Improve Core Web Vitals, load times, and Lighthouse performance scores.
  • Manage redirects, site maps, and robots.txt files to optimize crawl efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the SEO and content teams to align technical updates with ongoing campaigns.

Analytics, Tagging & Reporting

  • Configure and maintain Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Search Console, and Tag Manager tracking.
  • Create and maintain performance dashboards tracking traffic, engagement, and conversions.
  • Ensure accurate integration between web analytics and CRM/intake systems.
  • Generate monthly reports and technical recommendations for leadership.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Partner with content and marketing teams to deploy optimized landing pages and campaigns.
  • Support PPC and paid media initiatives with technical tracking and page optimization.
  • Provide technical guidance for video, multimedia, and Spanish-language content integrations.
  • Ensure all updates comply with California State Bar Rule 1-400 and firm brand standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience in full stack web development and technical SEO.
• Proficiency in WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and related technologies.
• Experience with GA4, GTM, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
• Proven success improving site speed, Core Web Vitals, and conversion rates.
• Familiarity with schema markup, JSON-LD, and structured data for legal websites.
• Experience implementing secure, compliant websites (HTTPS, CCPA, ADA/WCAG).
• Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
