Local Edition – Host
Beneath Market St., in the depths of the historic Hearst Building lies subterranean cocktail bar known as Local Edition. Inspired by the newspaper business of the 50s and 60s, you will find a sophisticated décor juxtaposed by vintage paper presses and clippings from the archives of San Francisco’s past. If you like live music and strive to give excellent customer service, the host position at Local Edition may be right for you. We are looking for persons who have experience in the restaurant, bar, or hotel industries or those looking to and are eager to learn. Typical hours are Mondays thru Saturdays, 3:30 pm - 2:30 am.
Responsibilities
- Use reservation platform to track guest arrivals and departures
- Actively greet and seat guests and communicate their status to the floor team
- Monitor and manage coat check organization and cleanliness
- Answer all phone calls, emails, and event inquiries
- Assist in opening and end-of-day close out as necessary
Qualifications
- Experience in beverage or hospitality industry preferred but not necessary
- Ability to adapt to a variety of guest service needs
- Ability to communicate in written English
- Experience using Yelp Guest Manager a plus
- Has or is willing to obtain a CA Food Handler’s Certification and pass RBS training
- 21+ years of age or older
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours
