About the Role
We are seeking a customer-focused Field Service Engineer to support advanced medical imaging systems (CT, PET, and Nuclear Medicine/SPECT equipment) across healthcare facilities in the New York region.
This role is responsible for installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diagnostic imaging systems. The ideal candidate has strong electro-mechanical skills, experience servicing medical imaging devices, and enjoys working directly with clinical customers to ensure equipment uptime and patient care continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission imaging systems at customer sites
- Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues
- Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical assemblies
- Provide both onsite and remote technical support
- Maintain documentation and service reports
- Collaborate with clinical staff to minimize downtime
- Support new product rollouts and first-time installations
- Escalate technical issues and recommend improvements
- Travel within assigned territory as needed
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience servicing or installing medical imaging equipment
- Experience with CT or PET systems (nuclear medicine/SPECT strongly preferred)
- Strong electrical, mechanical, and computer troubleshooting skills
- Experience with software installations and upgrades
- Ability to work independently in field environments
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience supporting hospital or clinical environments
- Knowledge of imaging system networking and IT integration
- Strong customer service and communication skills
