Design. Build. Innovate.

At Sioux Chief, we don’t just manufacture plumbing products — we engineer smarter, faster, and safer ways to make them. We’re looking for a Project / Machine Design Engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges, pushing limits, and seeing their designs come to life on the production floor.

If you want to own your projects from concept through completion — designing machines that bring new products to market and improve how America’s plumbing systems are made — this is where you belong.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and enhance custom equipment that drives innovation across our production lines.
  • Lead projects from idea to installation — managing timelines, budgets, and hands-on results.
  • Create and refine machine components in-house and specify purchased parts.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on everything from automation design to product performance.
  • Troubleshoot, refine, and continuously improve existing systems and processes.
  • Train operators, maintenance, and integrators on your designs — ensuring safety and long-term reliability.
  • Collaborate with fellow engineers to reimagine what’s possible in our R&D shop.

Requirements:

What You Bring

  • A.S. degree or equivalent technical training, plus 5+ years of experience in machine design.
  • Strong 3D design skills using Autodesk Inventor and solid mechanical fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming, automation, pneumatics, and robotics.
  • Sharp problem-solving skills and the drive to see projects through from the first sketch to full production.
  • Team spirit, curiosity, and the confidence to innovate in a fast-paced environment.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
