A leading engineering firm in the energy and utilities sector is hiring experienced Project Engineering Managers to oversee substation, distribution, and transmission line projects. This is a key leadership role for hands-on technical experts who thrive in both management and design execution.
About the Role
You will lead and mentor engineering teams while providing technical oversight across multiple high-voltage projects (69kV and above). The ideal candidate is a structural engineering professional who enjoys both strategic leadership and detailed PLS-CADD modeling work.
Responsibilities

Manage engineering projects from conceptual design through construction support

Oversee budgets, schedules, and scopes for services and EPC work

Provide mentorship and daily direction to engineers, focusing on skill growth and performance

Lead PLS-CADD modeling efforts, ensuring design accuracy and efficiency

Support structural design for foundations, framing, and materials (steel, concrete, and wood)

Collaborate closely with clients and cross-functional teams to ensure project success
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

8 or more years of experience in utility or structural engineering (10+ preferred)

Strong background in substation or transmission line design at 69kV and above

Advanced proficiency in PLS-CADD (must rate your skills 8 out of 10 or higher)

Proven ability to manage and mentor engineering teams

Experience with foundation and framing design in steel, concrete, and wood
