About the Role Field Engineer

The Field Engineer supports field operations by assisting with project tasks, documentation, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination. Responsibilities include participating in preconstruction planning, reviewing drawings, managing site logistics, and ensuring safety compliance. The role also involves cost control support, attending project meetings, and contributing to post-construction activities. This position provides an opportunity to develop essential skills for career growth in construction management.

Position Logistics

  • Work Environment: On-Site
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8 am - 5 pm (with flexibility)
  • Work Type: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist with field operations tasks as assigned by the project team.

  • Support preconstruction activities, including plan reviews, site logistics planning, and quantity takeoffs.

  • Manage project documentation, including drawings, RFIs, daily reports, and safety compliance.

  • Communicate and coordinate project schedules with subcontractors.

  • Oversee subcontractor management, including scope review, coordination, QA/QC, and scheduling.

  • Assist with cost control by tracking procurement, purchases, and cost data.

  • Attend and contribute to project meetings, safety orientations, and coordination discussions.

  • Support post-construction activities, including punch lists and final documentation.

  • Build and maintain relationships with project stakeholders, including subcontractors and design teams.

  • Participate in training, professional development, and company events.

  • Technically proficient, with strong computer skills, including Excel, and familiarity with construction management software.

  • Knowledgeable in construction principles, with education or experience in construction management, estimating, scheduling, or field operations.

  • Dedicated to safety, quality, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field (preferred).

  • Internship, education, or field experience in construction.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.

  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Excel.

  • Field-related construction experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of estimating, scheduling, surveying, and layout is beneficial.
