Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, you will provide crucial support by managing legal inquiries, processing documentation, and maintaining compliance with laws and regulations. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to interact effectively with the public, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
• Respond promptly to inquiries from the public and collaborate with state and federal agencies to exchange necessary information.
• Process payments for certificates or services, prepare correspondence to request additional documentation, and finalize legal processes.
• Update and amend vital records in the database to ensure accuracy in compliance with legal standards and regulations.
• Review legal documents, such as court orders and applications, to confirm compliance with laws and determine eligibility for requested services.
• Examine scanned documents to verify proper attachment to records and enforce applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
• Manage and reconcile daily cash drawer activities, ensuring accurate closeouts and monitoring customer service areas for safety and efficiency.
• Identify and report any suspicious documents, activities, or behavior to supervisors for further investigation.
• Retrieve original certificates from storage for inclusion in sealed record files and assess supporting evidence for record amendments.
• Maintain detailed records and databases to track and issue certifications or confirm the absence of requested records.• Proven experience in customer service or administrative roles, preferably within a legal or compliance-focused environment.
• Familiarity with office procedures, policies, and compliance standards.
• Strong skills in database management and document processing.
• Ability to interpret and apply legal regulations and policies accurately.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing correspondence and interacting with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in handling cash transactions and maintaining financial records.
• Keen attention to detail when reviewing and verifying documentation.
• Ability to identify and report suspicious activity or discrepancies.
