Accounting Manager (Private AI Unicorn)

- They sit at the intersection of AI and Capital Markets. They sit at the intersection of AI and Capital Markets. Their platform serves premier institutional clients, including PE Funds, Hedge Funds, Investment Banks, and Fintechs.
- Series D. Heavily backed by top tier investors.
- They are building out their first Accounting team. All roles will sit under the Controller.
- For this role, they seek an Accounting Manager, who will have a Senior Accountant (also hiring for this) underneath.
- They utilize Rillet software (not required), and are looking to create the next generation of an Accounting/Finance Department. This role leads full-cycle accounting operations and financial reporting while establishing internal controls and scalable systems. You will work closely with cross-functional leadership and external partners. You will also support budgeting and forecasting initiatives, track key financial metrics, and analyze variances to guide leadership on business performance.
- This role is 5 days onsite. They are in the heart of Midtown, and offer Catered Lunch, daily Door Dash credits, compted Uber rides home, and more.

What You Will Own:
\n
Core Accounting & Financial Operations
\n
- \n
- Own the day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense management.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.

Financial Infrastructure & Process Development
\n

- Establish and refine accounting processes, internal controls, and financial policies to support operational scale.
- Implement and optimize modern financial systems and workflows to enhance reporting efficiency.
- Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives with accurate financial data and actionable insights.
- Track key financial metrics and analyze variances to guide leadership on business performance.

Cross-Functional Support & External Coordination

- Partner with internal leadership and cross-functional teams to align financial processes with overarching business goals.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies for annual audits, filings, and ongoing compliance.

What You Will Need:

Required

- 6-8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- CPA certification or equivalent professional credentials.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency with modern cloud ERP and accounting management systems.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Prior public accounting foundation.
- Experience working within high-growth, venture-backed organizations.
- Background operating within recurring revenue or technology environments.

- Exposure to multi-entity or international accounting operations.
