An international automotive component manufacturer in the Farmington Hills, MI area is looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer who is responsible for designing and implementing the company's IT infrastructure systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain core IT infrastructure systems
- Write scripts to automate processes
- Monitor overall IT systems to ensure high performance and stability
- Maintain and improve backup systems
- Ensure systems meet security requirements
- Design and develop communication systems
- Provide technical support for hardware and software issues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business
- At least 8 years of experience with Linux servers
- At least 8 years of experience with virtualization (VMWare)
- At least 8 years of experience with storage technologies
- At least 8 years of experience with scripting (BASH, Python and/or PHP)
- Ability to travel up to 25 percent
- Strong communication and organizational skills
