General Farm Hand / Equipment Operator – Melon Acres
Location: Oaktown, IN Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role Melon Acres is looking for a self-motivated, reliable, and hardworking General Farm Hand to join our 2026 crew. This isn't just a "tractor driving" job; we are looking for a true "jack-of-all-trades" who can pivot from field work to maintenance and handle the daily rhythm of a busy produce farm.
What You’ll Do

Equipment Operation: Operate various tractors and implements for field preparation and crop maintenance.

Crop Protection: Spray various fruit and vegetable crops (experience is a plus, but we will train the right person).

Handyman & Maintenance: Use your "handy" skills to help with general farm repairs, shop work, and keeping operations running smoothly.

General Labor: Assist with daily farm tasks and seasonal field work as needed.
Schedule Requirements

Peak Season: Must be able and willing to work long hours during the summer months (often 12+ hours/day).

Reliability: This role is essential to our harvest; we need someone who shows up ready to work every day.
Qualifications

Experience: Previous experience with tractors, implements, and general farm equipment is required.

Handyman Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and assist with basic repairs is highly preferred.

Requirements: Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to pass a drug test.

Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision.
