Job Description

The Windchill Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing custom solutions and enhancements within the Windchill PLM environment. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business and technical requirements, supporting Agile delivery, mentoring team members, and staying current with Windchill best practices to ensure system performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement custom solutions, enhancements, and integrations in the Windchill PLM system based on business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user requirements and translate them into technical designs and deliverables.
  • Assist squad members in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges, providing guidance on effective solution implementation.
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) in alignment with the SAFe Agile framework to ensure timely delivery of PI objectives.
  • Stay current on Windchill PLM updates, industry trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for process and system improvements.
  • Support the team by conducting training sessions on new Windchill functionalities, customizations, and system enhancements.
  • Engage in story refinement, technical design discussions, and effort estimation to define clear deliverables, timelines, and task ownership.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with Windchill PLM development, customization, and configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of Windchill modules, Object Model, Info*Engine, and Java-based customization.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP-based integrations and PLM system upgrades.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum or SAFe Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a global, multi-functional team environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ThingWorx, PTC Integrity, or other PTC products.
  • Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or automation tools.
  • Knowledge of CAD integration within Windchill (Creo/Wildfire, etc.).
