The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is seeking applicants for the position of General Maintenance Technician/Groundskeeper. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing various aspects of facility maintenance and repair tasks, moving and lifting of furniture and equipment, maintenance of the swimming pool, and various groundskeeping duties. Although licensing in technical repairs pertinent to HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or electrical fields is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement. Candidates should possess four to five years of relevant experience in a related field. This is a 12-month, hourly position. Applications will be considered until the position is filled.

Today, the residential campus is still located on the original site in Alamogordo with a second campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico that houses an Early Childhood Program as well as the school’s statewide services.
