POSITION SUMMARY:
The Administrator Database II is responsible for supporting, designing, and maintaining all SQL Server databases by ensuring their performance, availability, and security. This role collaborates closely with cross‑functional IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related support tickets, contribute to architectural and design decisions, and optimize existing systems for reliability and efficiency. Additional responsibilities include proactive system health monitoring, ongoing maintenance and upgrades, performance tuning, data access control and governance, and adherence to best practices for backup, recovery, and security.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of SQL Server databases supporting AMSURG systems.
- Perform routine administration, including maintenance, upgrades, monitoring, and patching of database environments.
- Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and index management to ensure system efficiency.
- Manage backup and recovery processes and ensure adherence to RPO/RTO requirements.
- Implement and maintain database security, user access, and role-based permissions.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and development teams to resolve database-related incidents and support request tickets.
- Provide technical guidance during system design, integration, and architecture discussions.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding issues, timelines, and impacts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for database environments, standards, and operational procedures.
- Monitor system health and proactively identify issues, risks, or optimization opportunities.
- Follow change management, SDLC processes, and operational best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotation and support after-hours maintenance as needed.
- Stay current with emerging SQL Server features, industry best practices, and security standards.
- Recommend improvements to database architecture, performance, and reliability.
- Participate in team knowledge-sharing and process maturity efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
- Understanding of core DBA tasks such as backups, restores, performance monitoring, indexing, query tuning, and security management
- Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and T-SQL. Basic scripting (i.e. PowerShell) is a plus but not required.
- Working experience SDLC processes, change management, and working within structured deployment workflows.
- Knowledge of implementing and managing Privacy, Security
- Able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and teammates.

Education/Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from accredited College or University in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or similar technology bootcamp; 3+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of IT experience in positions related to applications management, technology platform administration, and business process design.

Paid Time Off:
