Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description
The Quality Technician will perform visual and dimensional inspections on cargo products such as locking straps, beams, cargo bars, and locks to ensure they meet quality standards. This role uses basic measuring tools and inspection methods, documents and communicates results, and supports a clean, organized, and safety-focused production environment on a 1st shift schedule (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.).
Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspections on cargo products including locking straps, beams, cargo bars, and locks to verify conformance to quality standards.
- Use a tape measure and micrometer to perform accurate dimensional checks on parts and assemblies.
- Read and interpret work orders and, with training, read and interpret blueprints to understand product specifications and inspection requirements.
- Conduct first article inspections to confirm initial parts meet required specifications before full production runs.
- Document inspection findings clearly and accurately, including measurements, test results, and any nonconformances.
- File and maintain inspection records and test documentation in an organized and accessible manner.
- Communicate inspection and testing results effectively to production, engineering, and other relevant team members.
- Assist with or perform tensile testing, hardness testing, and other lab-based evaluations when needed and as trained.
- Follow established quality procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines at all times.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area within the lab and inspection areas.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to support continuous improvement in quality and inspection processes.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude while being open to learning new tools and techniques.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency using a tape measure for accurate dimensional measurements.
- Experience using a micrometer to perform precise measurements on parts and components.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and identify defects or nonconforming conditions.
- Experience performing first article inspections or willingness to learn and apply first article inspection procedures.
- Capability to read and follow work orders and written instructions.
- Strong reliability, including consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Positive, professional attitude and strong willingness to learn new skills and procedures.
- Basic documentation skills to record and communicate inspection and test results clearly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with tensile testing equipment and procedures.
- Experience with hardness testing and related lab equipment.
- Prior work in a lab or quality testing environment.
- Blueprint reading experience or interest in learning to read and interpret blueprints.
- Comfort working with basic quality tools and following standardized inspection processes.

Work Environment
This role is based in a brand new, climate-controlled facility that is very clean and well lit, providing a comfortable and safe setting for detailed inspection work. You will work on a 1st shift schedule, either 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., supporting work-life balance with daytime hours. The environment includes lab and inspection areas equipped with measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and, where applicable, tensile and hardness testing equipment. The workplace emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and safety, with a professional atmosphere suited to focused, detail-oriented tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hebron, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
