Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a QA Automation Engineer (SDET) with Karate Framework + Java opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ.

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Duration: Ongoing contract

Duties:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks using Java and the Karate framework.

  • Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both front-end and back-end systems.

  • Develop and test REST APIs with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure test coverage and adherence to quality standards.

  • Implement BDD practices with Cucumber and Gherkin for behavior-driven development.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of test strategies, code coverage, and QA best practices.

  • Contribute to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps initiatives.

Skills:

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in backend Java automation and REST API testing.

  • Strong experience with front-end and back-end automation frameworks, including Karate.

  • Proficiency in Java, BDD (Cucumber, Gherkin), and test design strategies.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and version control (e.g., Git).

  • Deep knowledge of reactive programming, multithreading, and design patterns.

  • Strong background with Spring and Spring Boot.

  • Understanding of cloud environments, scalability, and modern QA practices.

Experience:

  • Proven track record in designing and implementing automated test frameworks.

  • Experience working in Agile teams with strong collaboration skills.

  • Prior experience in scaling test automation across enterprise systems.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
