Job DescriptionJob Title: Compliance EngineerLocation: Commerce, TXHire Type: Direct HirePay Range: $80,000-$125,000Work Model: OnsiteRecruiter Contact: Samantha Marranca | 716-256-1271 | smarranca@imaginestaffing.netNature & Scope:Positional OverviewThe Compliance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products, systems, and installations meet all applicable regulatory, safety, and industry standards. This individual contributor role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity, safety, and market readiness by managing compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle.Working closely with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and external certification bodies, the Compliance Engineer ensures regulatory considerations are embedded into product design, testing, certification, and ongoing production.Role & Responsibility:Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success

  • Research, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements, standards, and guidelines relevant to products and systems, including safety, performance, and environmental compliance.
  • Ensure products, installations, and systems comply with local, national, and international regulations and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance documentation, including test reports, certifications, declarations, and technical files.
  • Coordinate product testing and certification activities with external laboratories and certification bodies (e.g., UL, ETL, CSA).
  • Support risk assessments and technical evaluations to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions or design changes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, and Product Development teams to integrate compliance requirements into the product development lifecycle.
  • Support quality control and inspection processes to ensure ongoing compliance in production and field installations.
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews; address findings in a timely manner.
  • Monitor changes in regulations, codes, and standards, and provide proactive guidance on compliance impacts.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training and guidance to internal teams to promote compliance awareness and best practices.
  • Generate compliance status reports for leadership, identifying risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of compliance and operational objectives.

Skills & ExperienceQualifications That Will Help You ThriveRequired Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, certification, or product safety engineering.
  • Working knowledge of relevant standards and codes such as NEC, UL, IEC, FCC EMC, surge, and ESD requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with third-party testing laboratories and certification bodies (UL, ETL, CSA).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple compliance initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, product safety, and sustainability.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in the solar, energy storage, or power electronics industry.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
  • Experience using compliance management software or regulatory tracking tools.
  • Master’s degree or certification in regulatory affairs or compliance engineering.
