Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to lead our team and provide the best service for our guests as the next general manager of our busy hotel. Do you enjoy bringing new and creative ideas to help drive revenue and building strong relationships with guests to gain repeat business? Our ideal candidate brings a high standard of service quality along with at least 5 or more years of hospitality experience, preferably in a hotel management role. As the general manager, you will oversee HR matters, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, coaching/counseling, and performance management. $55,000 - $65,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

  • Empower hotel staff to excel in superior guest service to drive financial success through strong leadership and creative operational strategies
  • Devise the cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel's rooms, public areas, and grounds in order to cultivate a reputation for quality
  • Spearhead and develop an effective marketing strategy to promote the hotel services and other offerings
  • Facilitate strategic planning, objectives, and a timetable of action for hotel department leaders that meets overall hotel goals
  • Create a budget to maximize profit margins while keeping costs in balance with guest satisfaction and quality of services
  • Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction through staff training and positive coaching of staff.
  • Maintain a proactive internal guest satisfaction program that allows for immediate response and resolution to guest problems.
  • Operate the hotel within the budgeted guidelines through effective labor and spending controls.
  • Maintain the highest standards of physical appearance of the property through effective administration of housekeeping and maintenance operations.

  • Cleanliness and maintenance of the property are among the highest priorities on which the GM must focus. It is imperative that the property always looks its best and that everything is in working order.
  • Maintain an effective system for managing reservations to maximize occupancy
  • Ensure team members of all departments are effectively trained.
  • Effective communication within departments
  • Strict security controls to ensure guest safety, team safety, and your safety.

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent GED; degree in hospitality or related field of study preferred
  • Exhibit excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Must have a strong focus on putting the guest first with exceptional customer service experience
  • 5+ years of experience working in a hotel or the hospitality industry required
  • A proven record of experience managing a team, preferably in the hospitality field, is required
  • Minimum 2 years of Hotel Leadership experience preferred
  • 5 years of Microsoft Office experience, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
