POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The driver creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while providing safe transportation of program participants to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive and positive atmosphere in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 1pm-5pm
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Drives minibus safely according to YMCA policies, procedures, and state laws.
- Maintains minibus in orderly and clean fashion.
- Completes thorough checks before and after every trip, recording all information.
- Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms.
- Cleans minibus out each day, after last use.
- Always promotes safety, keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.
- Announces minibus rules prior to departure for each trip.
- Develops friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children.
- Communicates regularly with other staff and supervisor.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current driver's license required.
- Position requires a clear criminal background check to include a clean Motor Vehicle Report
- CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements is preferred
- 2 Years Driving experience
- 21 years of age
- Certifications required within 60 days of hire; CPR/AED/First Aid
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
