Senior Systems Engineer

JHNA is currently seeking a talented Senior Systems Engineer to support our Army Aviation customer.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Derive S&T project plans based on priorities, gaps and problem areas.
  • Perform engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex aviation systems in support of mission objectives.
  • Assist Government personnel in establishing and maintaining collaboration arrangements with government, industry, academia, and international partners.
  • Communicate, both written and verbal, project plans and status to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Execute S&T projects, including managing technical progress, risk, schedule, budget, and other project resources, to achieve established technology objectives and project goals.
  • Support analysis, integration, and testing of autonomous capabilities in manned and unmanned aviation platforms, ensuring effective interoperability and system performance.
  • Develop recommendations for system improvements, optimization, and support efforts across system life cycles.
  • Conduct technical analyses related to requirements definition, software and hardware design, functional and reference architectures.
  • Support configuration management, quality assurance, and change control procedures throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Prepare engineering data, test reports, and documentation for customer briefings and proposal presentations.
  • Lead or support systems engineering activities such as requirements analysis, architecture development, interface design, and verification and validation.
  • Support integration, demonstration and experimentation efforts to help drive S&T efforts as well as reduce risk for follow-on acquisition programs

Required Qualifications:

  • Security clearance at the SECRET level is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, science, or mathematics from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, preferably in aviation mission systems.
  • Knowledge of configuration management, quality assurance, and change control procedures.
  • Experience integrating software-intensive mission systems in aviation environments.
  • Understanding of system performance metrics, technical performance measures, and system lifecycle processes.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills for interactions with stakeholders and customer representatives.
