Location: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, or San Francisco/Oakland, CA
Direct Counsel is seeking an Insurance Litigation Associate Attorney with 4–8 years of complex litigation experience to join a leading full-service law firm in California. The attorney will work collaboratively with partners and clients, handling sophisticated litigation matters including insurance disputes.
Responsibilities

Handle all stages of commercial litigation from inception through trials and appeals.

Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.

Manage discovery, including propounding and responding to document requests, written discovery, and depositions.

Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel throughout litigation.

Assist in strategy development and ensure efficient, high-quality client representation.
Salary Range (California law)

$280,000 – $380,000, depending on experience and location.

Qualifications

4–8 years of experience in complex, sophisticated litigation.

Strong writing, analytical, and case management skills.

Experience with insurance litigation strongly preferred.

Courtroom and deposition experience preferred.

Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the California Bar.

Must submit a law school transcript, writing sample, and cover letter detailing complex litigation experience, including insurance matters.
