Job Description:
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing engineering teams in the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions to support the organization's needs. This role involves strategic planning, managing technical projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and efficiency. The candidate will leverage their extensive experience in engineering management to ensure successful project delivery and team performance.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- This position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.
- You can be based out of following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in engineering and project management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing engineering teams and delivering complex technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery, DevOps practices, and CI/CD execution using ArgoCD and GitHub-based workflows.
- Hands-on familiarity with modern infrastructure and containerized environments including Kubernetes, Docker, Amazon EKS, Route 53, AWS ALB/NLB, Amazon EFS, and Amazon RDS for Oracle.
- Working knowledge of platform services and integrations such as Amazon ElastiCache for Redis, Amazon MSK, Consul Mesh, and Grafana for observability.
- Experience with legacy technology stewardship including JSP, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle WebLogic, and HL7-driven interface dependencies.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a government contracting environment.
- Relevant certifications in engineering management or technical disciplines
Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture.
Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and oversee technical projects from inception to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
Technical Strategy:
- Develop and implement technical strategies to meet organizational goals and objectives.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure all engineering practices and solutions comply with relevant regulations and standards, including FedRAMP, FISMA, and HIPAA.
- Implement security measures and conduct regular assessments to protect sensitive information.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other stakeholders, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define strategic priorities and investment areas.
Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor and assess team performance, providing regular feedback and addressing any issues promptly.
- Utilize metrics and reporting tools to track project and team progress.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical processes, project plans, and system architectures.
- Generate and deliver regular reports on engineering performance, project status, and key metrics
Continuous Improvement:
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement changes as needed.
