Position: Contract Conformance Specialist IV
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $45-$47/hour on W2
Duration: 12+ Months (Possible Extension)
Position Overview:
The Contract Conformance Specialist (CCS) is accountable for the day-to-day sourcing and conformance activities for all contractual arrangements of assigned capital projects. The CCS manages the entire administration stages of the contracts on the Projects, ensures contractual obligations are met, facilitates timely resolution of contractual matters, and interacts with third parties as well as in-house departments (legal, project management, procurement, etc.).
Key Dimensions:
- Major projects with a consolidated total of up to $500MM per year.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with Project Execution contracting strategy.
- Facilitate preparation of contract exhibits (scope, specifications, pricing, special instructions).
- Assist in writing technical contract language.
- Lead contract negotiations during bidding and formation phases.
- Manage change order process (log, directives, reviews, approvals).
- Review contractor documents/invoices for compliance and manage correspondence/documentation logs.
- Prepare/transmit company correspondence and meeting notes.
- Establish/implement contract document control and retention systems.
- Coordinate contract close-out and support audits.
- Provide weekly/monthly status updates to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, legal, technical, or business discipline with experience in legal, engineering, construction, and/or contract administration/conformance of construction-related projects (preferably in the gas pipeline industry); OR Associate’s degree with a minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Specific knowledge and experience in contracting processes and issues related to energy industry construction projects.
- Fundamental understanding of contract documents and their utilization.
