Position Overview

The Data Scientist (DS-III) supports the Mission Acceleration team (Task 3) by developing advanced analytics, metrics, and automation solutions to drive audit remediation. This role focuses on leveraging the Advana platform to produce high-quality dashboards and reporting that inform senior leadership decisions. The Data Scientist applies data science best practices within an IT Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and agile development environment to measure progress against Secretary of War priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Metrics Analysis & Reporting: Develop and deliver compliant financial statement audit metrics and reporting using Advana to track Secretary of War priorities and governance meeting outcomes.

• Dashboard Development: Design, maintain, and update Qlik dashboards to provide consistent, real-time visibility into audit remediation status and IT performance.

• Automation Solutions: Implement automation features to reduce manual data entry and reporting efforts, integrating these solutions into new and existing ODCFO applications.

• Methodology Design: Collaborate with Government and Contractor SMEs to define accurate calculation methodologies and intent for all reported metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of concurrent experience supporting DoW requirements.
• Experience with Advana and Qlik (or similar BI tools) for dashboard development is highly preferred.
• Experience with automation and metrics calculation in a federal or DoD audit environment.
• Proficiency in Qlik Sense, SQL, and Python/R for data modeling and visualization.
• Ability to define and implement metrics methodologies for complex financial data.
• Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and ITIL processes.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical data into executive-level insights.
