Job DescriptionOur busy shop is seeking an experienced lube technician to join our automotive service team. You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks and fills, tire rotations, light bulb replacements, and inspections. This position requires some knowledge of the mechanical workings of different types of automobiles. Previous experience as a lube technician or automotive technician is desired. $22 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Advise customers on additional recommended services based on mileage and vehicle history
- Maintain shop inventory by recording oil and parts usage and reordering supplies when needed
- Conduct oil changes and fluid inspections on customer vehicles, including emptying and refilling engine oil and checking and refilling transmission, brake, power steering, and coolant fluids
- Ensure the shop floor and other work spaces are clean, and follow all safety guidelines as required
- Document all service procedures performed and parts installed or replaced
- Attend technical training classes with the team monthly
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to operate vehicle lifts, tools, and other garage equipment safely
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience working on automobiles or as a lubricant technician of a year or more is preferred
