Extension is seeking an Engineering Manager - Tooling for a DIRECT HIRE opportunity with one of our clients located in Waukesha County.

Key Objectives / Role Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, including design engineers, CAD technicians, and quotation engineers
- Provide technical leadership for carbide cutting tool design, applications, and manufacturing processes
- Balance people leadership with hands-on technical review of tooling designs, processes, and routings
- Drive project execution by setting priorities, allocating resources, and tracking progress
- Partner with Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, and Operations to support customers and solve complex technical challenges
- Analyze operational data, late-job drivers, and rework metrics to improve performance and efficiency
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to machining, EDM, laser processes, and tooling measurement systems
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
- 5+ years of direct experience in cutting tool design and application (strong preference)
- Prior leadership experience (formal or informal) required
- Experience working in CNC machining or tool shop environments
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, machine tools, and toolholding
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (required)
- Experience with SAP (required)
- Strong background in quoting, cost analysis, and manufacturing routings
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Nice to Have
- Customer-facing application engineering or technical sales experience
- Experience in carbide, aerospace, or OEM manufacturing environments
Salary Information
- Base Salary: Up to $125,000
