DevOps Developer (Remote)

About the Role
This is a hybrid role at the intersection of development and operations. As a DevOps Developer, you will not only build and maintain infrastructure and automation pipelines but also write and optimize code in C and/or Java that powers our applications and deployment tools.

You’ll work closely with developers as well as act as a system administrator to create reliable, scalable, and efficient solutions; while contributing directly to the applications we deliver to clients.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins for automated testing, integration, and deployment.

• Contribute directly to our codebase in C and/or Java, building tools, modules, and services that support application deployment and monitoring.

• Configure and manage Apache and Tomcat servers for Java/Spring applications.

• Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment workflows using Ansible and custom scripts.

• Develop and maintain system monitoring and automation scripts (Bash, Python, or equivalent).

• Optimize and support MySQL/MariaDB databases, including schema changes, tuning, and SQL queries.

• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, integration, and deployment issues across the stack.

• Collaborate with the development team to design solutions that are both efficient in code and scalable in infrastructure.

• Support cloud-based environments, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of combined development (C/Java) and DevOps/system administration experience.

• Strong programming skills in C and/or Java (Spring framework experience preferred).

• Hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu) server administration.

• Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB).

• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar).

• Experience with Ansible or related configuration management tools.

• Familiarity with scripting languages (Bash, Python, or equivalent).

• Solid understanding of system architecture, networking, and security.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud providers.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Knowledge of source control systems (Git, SVN).

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments.

This is a remote role with occasional travel for team gatherings or key client engagements.

This position can be filled by a vast range of experienced and skilled candidates. We are more concerned about attitude than experience & knowledge. The salary will be commensurate with competitive market rates. RDA is a fully remote company, and this position is fully remote.
