Industrial Maintenance Technician Job SummaryThe Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and support safe, efficient production operations. This role requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, preventative maintenance experience, welding, and basic electrical knowledge.
Industrial Maintenance Technician Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production machinery and equipment.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Replace mechanical components including bearings, belts, chains, motors, and other machine parts.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment.
- Perform welding repairs and light fabrication as needed.
- Troubleshoot basic electrical systems including motors, sensors, and machine controls.
- Inspect machinery for wear, damage, and potential failures; recommend necessary repairs.
- Install, adjust, and align equipment components to ensure proper operation.
- Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate with production personnel to resolve equipment issues quickly and efficiently.
Industrial Maintenance Technician Qualifications
- Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production equipment.
- Experience replacing bearings, belts, chains, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical components.
- Welding and light fabrication experience required.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience involving motors, sensors, and machine controls.
- Ability to read maintenance manuals, diagrams, and basic schematics is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Reliable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.
Industrial Maintenance Technician Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving machinery.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
Industrial Maintenance Technician Compensation & Benefits
- $23.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
