JOB SUMMARY:
The Program Manager/Technical Sales focuses on managing and executing technical sales initiatives, often involving cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring alignment with business goals. The Program Manager/Technical Sales’s responsibilities include managing project timelines, budgets, and technical deliverables, as well as fostering relationships with both technical and program lead stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Serves as a primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
- Identifies and pursues opportunities to grow business within existing accounts, fostering long-term customer relationships.
- Establishes new accounts by identifying potential customers and strategically plans and organizes sales outreach initiatives.
- Manages customer projects from inception to completion, aligning customer objectives with company goals to ensure mutual success.
- Collaborates with internal departments to effectively communicate and fulfill customer requirements and expectations.
- Participates in and contributes to weekly customer site visits, project review meetings, and conference calls to maintain alignment and engagement.
- Presents the company’s technical capabilities and value-added services, responding to inquiries and providing tailored solutions.
- Coordinates and conducts meetings with prospective customers, including company capability presentations and facility tours, to promote business development.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of company products, services, and industry trends to effectively support customers and identify growth opportunities.
- Develop and deliver customized quotes and proposals in coordination with estimating and technical teams, ensuring accuracy and responsiveness.
- Monitors project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time performance.
- Resolves issues related to pricing, deliveries, and quality by facilitating communication between internal departments and the customer.
- Maintains detailed account records, sales activities, and customer communications using CRM systems and reporting tools.
- Provides feedback to internal teams regarding market trends, customer feedback, and potential product improvements or innovations.
Requirements:
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, manufacturing trades, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in sales support, account management or project management within a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Prior exposure to precision manufacturing, including components, fabrication, and complex assemblies, is highly desirable.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across various organizational levels.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proven problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Confident presentation skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Solid technical understanding of machining, welding, fabrication processes, and quality control systems.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple clients, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass a post-employment offer drug screen, physical, and background check.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in the manufacturing office environment at the Main Plant located in Westbrook, Maine but travels to customer/potential customer sites occasionally. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasionally, this role uses standard production equipment such as power tools and other mechanic hand tools. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain stationary at a desk, in a vehicle, or plane, work on a computer with occasional interruptions; handle or feel small components. The employee frequently positions self to reach for objects, maintain and operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of computer keyboard, move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee occasionally travels long distances to meet with customers/potential customers and attend events, both in and out of the State of Maine. The employee frequently communicates with employees/customers/potential customers/vendors and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
