Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety inspections of recycling yards, audits, and hazard prevention measures.
- Investigate incidents and near misses; implement corrective action.
- Develop and lead engaging training and safety incentive programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other construction regulations.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and regulatory reporting (BAAQMD, CERS, DOORS, TRUCRS, EPA, fire permits).
- Guide workers’ comp claims and return-to-work processes.
- Partner with leadership to embed safety into daily operations.
- Oversee safety equipment and PPE policies.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction safety, environmental science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of safety/EHS for construction or materials manufacturing
- Expertise in OSHA standards and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and training skills.
- Proactive, organized approach with problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software.
Desired, Not Required!
- Professional certifications (CSP, CHMM, or OSHA 30-Hour)
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Experience with environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
