Position Summary

The Telehealth Coordinator manages the Telehealth program on a local program level and indirectly supervises telehealth users (both tele-presenters and providers).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to established telehealth workflows for the project that are consistent with organizational standards. Recommend modifications as you identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Telehealth, implement telehealth programs at project locations according to established implementation plans.
  • In collaboration with IT, operational, clinical staff, Telehealth Project Manager or Director of Telehealth provide and/or coordinate clinical and non-clinical training for project participants (to include both the originating site staff and the distant site providers).
  • In collaboration with the marketing department, Telehealth Project Manager or Director of Telehealth, coordinate, manage, and/or participate in marketing opportunities for the project to include both printed services as well as on and off-site events.
  • Supports clinic team members to provide excellent service
  • Supports non-clinical team members to provide excellent service
  • Collaborates with billing and coding leadership to supervise front desk staff
  • Facilitates proper billing in conjunction with the rev cycle team and front desk staff
  • Facilitates telehealth care pathways in conjunction with clinical team
  • Learn, follow, monitor, and educate others on telehealth workflows, policies and procedures
  • Perform quality assurance audits and reviews to assure quality, service and compliance standards are met
  • Review telehealth productivity reports to ensure assigned projects meet established expectations. Perform daily monitoring of performance measures.
  • Ensure compliance with HRSA Requirements for FQHCs, HIPAA, OSHA & other regulatory agencies; keeping abreast of new developments regarding telehealth to include NRS, NAC, and CMS Telehealth regulations
  • Performs other work related duties
  • This position may require significant travel to both Northern rural and Southern Nevada.
  • Coordinate program goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate understanding of program protocols and policies with telehealth users, to include front desk personnel, medical assistants, nurses, and providers.
  • Arrange for and perform training of telehealth end users, providing proficiency testing, and maintaining training records.
  • Mentor new telehealth program end users.
  • Monitor participant contact documentation and updating telehealth intranet.
  • Perform random quality assurance checks with participants, which could include review of documentation, review of protocols & procedures, and/or performance of ongoing training proficiencies.
  • Facilitate telehealth work space for providers in the telehealth department.
  • Establish and follow-through procedures for:
    1. Telehealth referrals;
    2. Medicaid enrollment;
    3. Vision, dental, and behavioral health services;
    4. Community resources
  • Arrange meetings with telehealth end-users for program support;
  • Collect documentation records and data as appropriate.
  • Monitor the program and compare to goals. Facilitate marketing materials, community events, etc. in collaboration with the Telehealth Project Manager and/or Director of Telehealth.
  • Routinely communicate program progress and/or concerns with the Telehealth Supervisor and/or Director of Telehealth.
  • Complete coursework, learning conferences, or training as assigned by the Telehealth Supervisor and/or Director of Telehealth.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
  • Ensure proper computer policy and procedures are followed
  • Ensure cleanliness of work environment at all times
  • Performs other work related duties as requested by the Telehealth Project Manager and/or Director of Telehealth.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Telehealth program experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Telehealth experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with telehealth providers and follow through on any requests regarding medications, lab work, etc.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Skill in operating computer databases
  • Ability to read, write, and calculate mathematical figures
  • Knowledge of and ability to understand Telehealth Program requirements
  • Can complete required documentation and paperwork
  • Is able to adhere to confidentiality policies
  • Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and to enhance teamwork in the clinics and overall NVHC’s organization
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population groups as defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, etc.
