About the Role:

We’ve partnered with a high-growth, innovation-driven engineering organization to identify a Senior Engineering Project Manager who will architect and lead a world-class PMO function. This newly created role is a rare opportunity to shape global strategy, drive operational excellence, and influence executive decision-making at the highest levels.

Reporting directly to the President of Engineering—this role requires a seasoned professional with a steady hand, strategic mindset, and deep experience in engineering project delivery.

You’ll lead a team of 7 project managers and oversee a portfolio of 12+ new product initiatives, with concept-to-production cycles ranging from 12 to 24 months. This is a high-visibility role with regular presentations to the Board and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global PMO Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing global project management team across multiple regions.

  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure engineering projects align with broader business goals and global strategies.

  • Portfolio Oversight: Manage prioritization, resource allocation, and risk across a diverse engineering project portfolio.

  • Governance & Methodology: Develop and implement standardized PMO processes, tools, and best practices.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product development, operations, and other teams to drive execution.

  • Executive Reporting: Present project updates, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and the Board.

  • Performance & Risk Management: Establish KPIs and proactively manage risks to ensure successful delivery.

  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee global budgets, timelines, and resource planning.

  • Team Development: Mentor and grow a high-performance team of project managers.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience: 10–15 years in engineering project management, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.

  • Track Record: Proven success leading global teams and delivering complex product development projects.

  • Industry Fit: Background in manufacturing or product engineering (no healthcare or IT).

  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of engineering workflows, product lifecycle, and manufacturing processes.

  • Methodologies: Deep expertise in PMO governance, Agile, Waterfall, Lean, and portfolio management.

  • Leadership: Calm, confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, or similar platforms.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business. Master’s or certifications (PMO-CP, PfMP, PgMP) a plus.

Why This Role?

  • Strategic Impact: Shape the future of a global PMO function from the ground up.

  • Executive Visibility: Present directly to the Board and senior leadership.

  • Growth Opportunity: Join a company on the cusp of major product expansion.

  • Culture: High-energy leadership with a strong vision—looking for someone who brings balance, clarity, and calm.
