Job Title: Manufacturing Spare Parts Engineer

Job Description

This role focuses on supporting manufacturing projects and program launches by identifying, managing, and controlling spare parts for equipment and tooling. The Manufacturing Spare Parts Engineer works closely with headquarters engineering teams to review engineering drawings and bills of materials, determine critical wear and perishable spare parts, and ensure they are documented and processed accurately in internal databases. The position requires strong technical experience in manufacturing equipment, a high level of analytical ability, and the capability to work in a dynamic environment with frequent changes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with headquarters engineering teams to receive and review engineering equipment and tooling drawings and bills of materials.
  • Identify key wear and perishable spare parts required to maintain manufacturing equipment and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Process and maintain spare parts information in the Document Control Center (DCC) database and other related systems.
  • Track key milestone deliverables, including spare parts identification and ordering, equipment and tooling tagging, and database linkages.
  • Establish and maintain linkages between multiple databases to support life cycle cost analysis of spare parts and equipment.
  • Organize, lead, and conduct meetings to report on spare parts status, milestones, and issues for manufacturing program launches.
  • Train headquarters engineers and suppliers on spare parts processes, documentation requirements, and database usage.
  • Resolve issues as they arise by using independent judgment, data analysis, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Support successful launches at manufacturing facilities by ensuring spare parts readiness and documentation accuracy.
  • Apply strong analytical skills to address unusual and complex problems related to equipment and spare parts.
  • Prioritize workload effectively and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Communicate clearly with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment on spare parts strategies and deliverables.
  • Contribute to preventive maintenance planning by understanding equipment operation and identifying required maintenance spare parts.
  • Support manufacturing engineering activities related to stamping, body shop, machine design, and tooling launches.
  • Utilize project management principles to coordinate spare parts activities across various manufacturing locations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of WARREN, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
