Engineering Intern

Position Summary & Job Responsibilities

Machining
Engineering Interns must have basic
knowledge about materials, coatings, heat treat processes, and inspection methods. They also need to be able to
work inside of an ERP system and use SolidWorks at a basic level.



The Primary Responsibilities of the Engineering Intern:


  • Process customer bid requests into an ERP system.
  • Using provided prints, identify required stock size to manufacture parts and reach out to material suppliers for pricing.
  • Using provided prints, identify
    specialty OSP work (heat treat, coatings, inspection methods) and reach out to required vendors for pricing.
  • Completes all required work order reporting and documentation.
  • Confers withotherengineers, production personnel or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Interacts with all areas of operations, material management, engineering, maintenance, tool and die and quality assurance.
  • Adheres to safety practices and procedures.
  • Follows procedures as defined by Mountain Machining policies, procedures and ISO9001 requirements.


Required:



Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions, work orders and engineered drawings.


Knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes (common material sizing, heat treating fundamentals, coating applications).


One+ years experience with GD&T and inspection practices.


Ability to learn, and work within an ERP system.


One+ years experience in SolidWorks.
