POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of IT Ancillary Services is a fully remote position that will oversee the implementation, optimization, and support of pharmacy and laboratory ancillary operations across Healthcare Systems of America's multi-facility hospital environment. This role includes managing a team of application analysts tasked with the development, deployment, and ongoing support of pharmacy and laboratory applications at HSA.
The Manager will be responsible for ensuring successful application service delivery and upgrades, providing comprehensive client support, and coordinating system integration with other applications. Additionally, they will establish and manage vendor relationships, collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership, and work closely with stakeholders to meet organizational objectives.
The Manager will leverage vendor resources for contract and solution reviews, while partnering with other Applications Managers and operational teams to identify and implement workflow improvements, system design changes, build processes, and long-term support strategies.
**This is a fully remote position with minimal travel required for production deployment events and periodic training sessions or meetings.**
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mentor a team of IT analysts, ensuring high-performance standards in laboratory and pharmacy technology solutions.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to enhance system functionality and meet organizational goals.
- Develop and implement IT roadmaps aligned with regulatory and healthcare standards.
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), and formulary databases.
- Ensure seamless integration within the MEDITECH EHR systems, inventory management, and all integrating systems/analyzers utilized with the department.
- Manage data integrity, cybersecurity, and interoperability with external partners.
- Work closely with integrated service vendors, including RALs, formulary vendors, middleware providers, and automation technology suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to maximize system performance and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CLIA, CAP, FDA, and pharmacy regulations to maintain accreditation and operational excellence.
- Work with Heads of Department within the hospitals to implement process improvements that enhance system reliability, scalability, and clinical usability.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot laboratory and pharmacy-related IT issues to minimize disruptions.
- Identify new technologies and automation solutions to streamline laboratory and pharmacy operations.
- Plan and adhere to departmental budget and identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Healthcare Informatics, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Preferred)
- Expertise in MEDITECH EHR, LIS platforms (Sunquest, Epic Beaker, Cerner PathNet), and pharmacy systems (Epic Willow, Pyxis, Omnicell, Meditech Pharmacy Module).
- Strong knowledge of data exchange, vendor integrations, and healthcare compliance standards.
- 4+ years of supervisor experience (Preferred)
