Job Description

SUMMARY

Follows oral and written instructions, the Cycle Counter is responsible for ensuring a high level of accuracy of inventory levels on campus by performing cycle counts daily, weekly and quarterly, and resolving any and all discrepancies in a timely manner.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must attend and pass the Johnson Controls manufacturing Training and Safety class (Exception: Department 810).

  • 1+ years of work experience in a distribution center environment is highly preferred.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) applications.

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred.

  • Previous experience in cycle counting highly desired.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

  • Ability to accurately count product and convert counts into meters, feet, etc

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the integrity of the physical count of the in-house inventory via cycle counting and other duties assigned.

  • Execution of the Inventory cycle count per the Inventory Cycle Count Schedule

  • Segregating parts with visual signs of damage or deterioration

  • Documenting on specified Business Unit inventory cycle count work sheet the results of the count and identifying the counts that exceed their established discrepancy tolerances

  • Re-count all parts that are out of tolerance

  • Ability to effectively communicate with two-way radio.

  • Overtime is required to meet production demands and can include Saturdays and Sundays when necessary.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or seven to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must complete the forklift training class and understand the Johnson Controls Manufacturing process and be detailed oriented.

This role is 1st Shift, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday through Friday with some overtime required on Weekends.
