The IT Field Support Technician is the primary support position for many of our clients. This position will touch all aspects of technology for a client. The position will support clients both remotely and on-site, and may work with desktop, server, VOIP or networking technology.

The IT Field Support Technician may travel to client sites around the Chicagoland Area for standard support calls as needed. Typical on-site visits may be recurring onsite visits troubleshooting all aspects of a client’s IT Infrastructure or may be on-demand for installation or repair of a specific item. This role will also participate in larger projects working with our engineering team. This role will get hands on experience and exposure to just about everything in the IT Field and is a position where one will grow their existing skills and knowledge quickly.

The IT Field Support Technician will work closely with high level engineers and escalate issues as needed. When not on-site on a service call you will be working on following up with items from recent service calls, preparing for future service calls, or working on items remotely from our office.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Information Technology Support, supporting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and use deductive reasoning to isolate problems.
  • General Understanding of TCP/IP Networking.
  • Enjoy working with new technologies and able to pick up new technologies quickly.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively (both written and spoken)
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work in fast paced environment
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment as needed (50+ lbs).
  • Able to participate in an on-call rotation.

Additional Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange or Office 365 Administration is a plus.
  • Experience with Windows Server Administration is a plus.
  • Experience with performing basic network configuration change via console is a plus.
  • Previous Experience supporting multiple clients at the same time is a plus
  • Vendor Certifications, while not required, are a plus
  • Previous experience with a Managed Service Provider is a plus
