LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Cognitive Performance Specialist to join our team.


Location: Hill Air Force Base, Utah


Job Description:

As a cognitive performance specialist (CPS) embedded with US Air Force fighter squadrons in the Optimizing the Human Weapon System (OHWS) program, you'll apply performance psychology techniques to optimize aircrew cognitive readiness. This includes mental skills training, stress inoculation, and integrated approaches that combine cognitive and physical training for mission success.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create, Deliver, Monitor and Evaluate group as well as individual mental performance sessions.
  • Document aircrew assessments, encounters, and contacts as directed.
  • Apply cognitive enhancement tools (e.g., biofeedback, neurofeedback).
  • Integrate with the other Human Performance Team members to develop holistic programs.
  • Track and document cognitive individualized programs and metrics in a Human Performance Measures of Effectiveness report.
  • Conduct applied research to improve warfighter cognitive resilience.
  • Provide seminars, briefings, and educational sessions.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Sport Psychology (preferred major area of study), Human Performance, or related field from an accredited college/university.
  • 2+ years of experience providing Cognitive Performance services in Tactical (military), Collegiate or Professional Sports, Aerospace, or similar man-machine high performance environment.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of applied sport/performance psychology.
  • Strong facilitation, research, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with operational and high-stress environments.
