Low-Code AI Engineer (Key Personnel)
Role Summary
Drive applied AI initiatives from prototype to production with rigor and speed. Serve as a hands-on technical enabler for our client by rapidly designing, configuring, and deploying low-code / no-code AI-enabled solutions that accelerate business transformation while meeting Federal Agency Responsible AI requirements. Bridge mission users, AI developers, data scientists, and governance stakeholders to enable secure, explainable, and repeatable AI adoption across ITA directorates.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configure low-code AI solutions, workflows, and automations aligned to ITA mission use cases.
- Integrate AI/ML services—predictive analytics, NLP, and GenAI components—into low-code platforms.
- Prototype and support pilots and MVPs under the AI COE framework, iterating quickly within governance guardrails.
- Translate business requirements into scalable low-code implementations in close collaboration with mission users.
- Implement model explainability, auditability, and governance hooks in accordance with Federal AI policy.
- Support the full AI lifecycle: development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous iteration.
- Align solutions with OCIO enterprise architecture, cybersecurity standards, data governance, and privacy controls.
- Document designs, workflows, configurations, and user guidance to enable repeatable adoption and scale.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of application development experience, including 3+ years using low-code / no-code platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with low-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform, ServiceNow, Appian, Mendix, OutSystems, Salesforce).
- Experience integrating AI/ML services (APIs, models, cognitive services).
- Familiarity with data pipelines, APIs, and cloud services.
- Understanding of Responsible AI principles, model transparency, and human-in-the-loop design.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Moderate Risk) or equivalent clearance; future Secret/TS-SCI needs.
- Availability for on-site collaboration in the National Capital Region (NCR), as required.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in federal IT environments.
- Prior experience supporting Federal AI governance frameworks.
- Experience within OCIO-led modernization efforts.
- Background in AI COE, data labs, or enterprise AI enablement.
- Azure DevOps, Power Platform, Power Apps, Microsoft Copilot Studio.
- Migration experience from IaaS to PaaS and SaaS.
Work Location
- Work Location Initial, 30-day transition period - On-site full-time at the customer's Washington DC, location.
