Lifeguard
Full-time; Seasonal | Non-Exempt/Hourly | Reports To: Club Managers
The PADONIA 30-acre campus located in Cockeysville includes Maryland’s largest swim club, top Baltimore caterers for weddings, mitzvahs, company picnics as well as celebrations, PADONIA Learning Center for Infants to Pre-K and PADONIA Summer Camps for ages 4 to 13
Responsibilities
- Responsible for safely guarding pools and lake areas
- Assist management with member/guest rule enforcement, as needed
- Anticipate, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies.
- Administer First Aid.
- Enforce rules and policies consistently.
- Perform various pool maintenance functions including back-washing, cleaning baskets and filters, and vacuuming the pool.
- Report maintenance issues of pool equipment, facilities, and grounds to manager.
- Ensure records and reports are completed as necessary and all applicable Health Codes, laws, and policies are adhered to.
- Monitor participants to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Answer customer questions, guide them, and provide relevant information about PADONIA.
- Support other positions around the park including, but not limited to, Special Events, Catering, Camp, Food & Beverage.
- Follow all guidelines outlined by manual provided for each position when working in respective departments.
Food & Beverage Service – The Grille, Windy Valley Farms, & Events
- Knowledgeable on menu items, ingredients and able to follow the recipe
- Handle cash, credit card, and member account transactions
- Assist Grille Staff
- Assist with the complete set up and breakdown of the event spaces including but not limited to tables, décor, equipment, etc.
- Be Knowledgeable and practice proper food safety and handling
Park Maintenance/Logistics
- Assist with transportation and member parking
- Assist with tasks as directed by Manager on Duty
- Organize and maintain all warehouse and storage facilities
- Bathrooms are expected to be cleaned multiple times throughout the day, toilets scrubbed, ground trash picked up, restocked with all supplies (toilet paper, hand soap, shower soap), showers up-kept, mirrors polished, trash bags changed and thrown out in the proper location.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Current Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid certifications. Including Shallow and Deep-Water Training
- Ability to read and carry out instructions and recognize safety warnings.
- Work in outdoor weather conditions.
- Ascend/descend stairs and ladders. Work with tools and equipment. Lift, move, push, and carry 50lbsfrequently.
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts/hours including weekday, evening, weekend hours, and overtime if needed and approved.
