Position Overview
Resolvesoft is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to provide comprehensive Tier 2 and Tier 3 Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for its portfolio of custom software applications. This role is vital in ensuring the continuous availability, stability, security, and recoverability of critical data architectures supporting the federal client.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Platform Maintenance & Tuning: Provide expert Database Administration support for all NIFA production and non-production Oracle Database and WebLogic platforms to ensure system stability and performance.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Maintain scheduled and on-demand backups for all production and selected non-production data. Uphold data safeguards and best practices to guarantee a clear recovery path and minimize data loss during disaster recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) exercises.
- Security & Vulnerability Patching: Actively maintain the cybersecurity posture of Oracle technologies. Apply critical security patches (Oracle quarterly CPU, out-of-band, and zero-day patches) within 15 days of release. Remediation of high/medium vulnerabilities must occur within 30 days of discovery.
- Configuration & Account Management: Perform configuration management for Oracle Database and WebLogic platforms to support evolving business needs. Manage, audit, and safeguard user accounts, profile permissions, and key passwords.
- Service Desk & Backlog Resolution: Respond to and resolve assigned Tier 2/Tier 3 technical trouble tickets and customer service requests. Target a 95% system availability rate during standard operational service hours (6:00 AM to 7:00 PM ET). Production-tier failures are top priority and may require off-hours support.
- Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain meticulous system documentation, including database instance/schema lists, data dictionaries, maps, startup/shutdown scripts, and operational change logs.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of formal Database Administrative experience.
- Database Systems: Strong technical competency managing and maintaining Oracle 19c Databases, Oracle WebLogic 12c, and MySQL 5.7 environments.
- Core Technical Competencies: Demonstrated proficiency in Database Management, Backup and Recovery protocols, Performance Management and Tuning, Database Security, Data Integrity, and Web-specific Technologies.
- Collaboration & Tools: Ability to work cross-functionally with Infrastructure, Service Desk, and Security Operations teams. Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Remedy, Git, and SharePoint is highly desirable.
Workforce Integrity & Trust Requirements
- Background Investigation: Must be able to successfully complete an initial background check and fingerprinting protocol in accordance with client standards prior to onboarding.
- Federal Trust: Due to the processing of highly sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII), candidates must possess an active Public Trust Moderate Risk (or higher) investigation, or pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
