Position Overview
The Sr. Engineering Technician in the R&D Laboratory will be responsible for supporting the development and testing of innovative products, ensuring that all engineering projects meet quality and performance standards. The role demands a strong technical background and hands-on experience in both mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to create and maintain technical documentation for R&D processes.
-This position is unique in that it will require variable working hours throughout the week + ability to drive to customer sites to setup and run fleet testing at times. Travel is 10%.-
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and testing of new automotive products in the R&D laboratory.
- Conduct system integration and performance testing of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Document test procedures, results, and findings in accordance with quality assurance protocols.
- Assist in the evaluation of engine coolants and heat transfer fluids under various conditions.
- Operate and maintain lathe, milling, and CNC machines to fabricate necessary components for testing.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to optimize testing methodologies and processes.
- Travel as needed for external testing and field evaluations of products in real-world conditions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in an R&D laboratory environment or related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience with engine coolants and heat transfer fluids is a plus.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and quality assurance practices.
- Familiarity with lathe, milling, and CNC operations.
- AS or BS in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.

- Base salary - $80,000 - $90,000 DOE
