Infusion Pharmacist
We are seeking an experienced Infusion Pharmacist to join our team. Previous infusion pharmacy experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, prepare, and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely.
- Prepare and compound sterile medications and solutions following proper procedures and applicable regulations.
- Monitor patient medication compliance, drug utilization, and potential overuse or drug-related issues.
- Counsel patients on medications, including proper use, dosage, storage, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient medication needs.
- Identify and resolve medication-related problems and make appropriate recommendations to healthcare providers.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, clerks, interns, and other pharmacy staff.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of medications and medical supplies.
- Educate patients on the proper use and handling of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Provide additional patient care services and medication-related education as appropriate.
- Ensure all medications and pharmacy operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Requirements
- Infusion pharmacy experience – REQUIRED
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
- Active pharmacist license in the applicable state.
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications, sterile compounding, drug interactions, and medication safety.
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.
